The Tizi n'Tichka pass
The pass climbs to over 2,200 m with long descents. Use a lower gear downhill instead of riding the brakes — overheated brakes lose power suddenly.
Before leaving Marrakech
- Check brake pads and fluid.
- Check coolant and oil.
- Inflate tires to the recommended pressure, including the spare.
- Make sure the air-conditioning works — you'll want it after Ouarzazate.
Fuel stops
Ouarzazate, Tinghir and Errachidia/Erfoud have reliable fuel stations. Don't let the tank run low in the long stretches between towns.
On arrival
If the car made unusual noises on the descent or the temperature rose, ask us for a quick check before driving tracks around Erg Chebbi.
